Me and Buster drove to Tennessee yesterday and stayed at Leslie’s. Got up this morning and went to Murfreesboro for my 1000 appointment to talk to Lori. It was my intention to try to talk some sense into her in hopes of making arrangements for her future but I failed miserably.

Left the jail and stopped by Barnes and Noble and bought Best Short Stories of 2016 and the latest Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazines. Also, picked up Chris Orwig’s latest photography book, The Creative Fight. Then to IHOP for a club sandwich with fries and back to Leslie’s to wait for Alyssa to get home.

Took Alyssa to the Dollar Store, then met Leslie at Legends for supper. Now back at the house and getting ready to take my shower and prepare myself to go to court in Murfreesboro tomorrow to see what Lori’s future is going to be.

Lori called this morning. She’s fired up. They have another charge against her (maybe two) for what I can’t tell but she thinks it’s for police officer’s tires being slashed. Can’t understand why she thinks that or where she heard it.

Called SiriusXM this morning and cancelled my truck account since I don’t use it anymore. Canceled immediately, confirmation number 3393CPDUA13. Supposed to get a $59.xx refund credited to my credit card.

Pot of pinto beans with ham cubes just finished and set on back burner for an hour at which time I intend to enjoy a big bowl of them.

Had my visit with Lori, yesterday morning, and came away very depressed. Lori is in a great move, thinks going to jail has been a great thing. Reason is, as usual, everything is someone else’s fault. She’s not there because she done anything wrong, but because of others. I kept my mouth shut and let her talk while I felt more and more depressed.
Lori did ask about Granny, if she had died. I told her she had. A few minutes later, she wanted to know if Granny had left her any money. Again, I told her she hadn’t, that Granny hadn’t left any to her grandchildren. To my answers to both questions, she responded with an “Oh”, like if didn’t make any difference.
I put $100,00 in her commissary account and she informed me that I’d better get ready to put more in as she had a lot of things she wanted. I reminded her that funds were limited but she ignored that part. She called me on the phone today so I went on line to start an account for her for phone calls and put $20.00 in it. It’s supposed to cost her 50 cents per call so that should do her for a while. I set it up so she can call anyone she wants so we’ll see how long it lasts.
I was going to stay in Tennessee until Saturday but didn’t really feel up to visiting anyone so me and Buster drove on home and got here about 2000. Mike called me when I was between Sikeston and Cape Girardeau and I had to type up a letter for him to his loan company as executor of mother’s estate and get it emailed to him.

Troy, one of Donnie Ayre’s employees, came over today and dug out our driveway at the trailer and places for the carport and garage and filled them in with gravel. Two layers, one 2” stuff, then spread fines on top. He’ll be back Monday if it doesn’t rain to pour the cement pads. Then I can order my carport and garage.

Up this morning and getting ready to go for a walk on the treadmill as soon as I finish my coffee. Like to get wide awake before I start.

Still waiting to hear from the Rutherford Country Sheriff’s Department to see if my request for a visit Thursday morning with Lori is approved. Can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be but still a little apprehensive.

Loaded the car up yesterday with nearly everything I want to take with me, enough for a month if necessary, though I only plan to stay two days. Think I’ll keep the car where I could live out of it if need be, and it might be if I get anywhere with Lori.

Started the morning with a weigh-in and came in at 192 pounds, the same as last week. Lost nothing but didn’t gain either. Three days on a trip to Tennessee brought back bad eating habits.

Took the air machine we rented for Mary for this past weekend back, went by State Farm and picked up my check, dropped a misaddressed letter off at the post office, made a deposit at the bank, dropped Granny’s will, Ameren Stock Certificate, and letter from Ameren off at Ed Pultz’s after calling him this morning and retaining him, then stopped at KFC for lunch.

The Improved Cylinder Choke for my Remington 870 20 gauge came in today so I took the time to install it.

Once I got home, I cleaned out the Ford Taurus and got it ready for the trip to Tennessee this week. Took Mary’s shirts down to her, then followed her over to Plaza to drop off her minivan and took her to Colton’s Steak House for supper. I enjoyed the Mesquite Chicken, a baked sweet potato, and a glass of the Gnarly Head Pinot Noir.

Back home for the evening, I put on a pot of beans that I had soaking since this morning, added some onions and ham, and hope it will be done before bedtime.

Got the car packed for my trip, everything I might need and a few things I couldn’t possibly. I worry about someone breaking in and stealing or destroying things so try to keep the most important with me, not that there is a guarantee in that.
